Job Description: Eating Disorders Outpatient Therapist Department: Outpatient

New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across various counties in Michigan, in both, outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Location: Bloomfield Hills

Schedule: Mutually agreed upon schedule determined at time of onboarding

Reports To: President / Clinical Director/ Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: Contractual/ Fee Split

Position Summary:

The ED Clinical Therapist is a full-time position comprised of multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities related to specialized Eating Disorders Outpatient Therapy. Requiring working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide the highest quality of care to consumers who have eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families following a person-centered approach in accordance to the Agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide assessments, intakes, individual, family and/or group therapy as needed in accordance with professional standards and policies/procedures of the facility.
  • Maintain documentation and case files within electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with clinic’s policies and procedures.
  • Complete Utilization Review assignments including but not limited to obtaining authorizations for services provided.
  • Assist in collection of any possible copayments, coinsurances and deductibles from assigned consumers at the time of services are rendered.
  • Attend monthly administrative/clinical meetings.
  • Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic environment.
  • Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
  • Complete all recommended continuing education and other requirements to maintain licensure.
  • Stay current with updated research and best practices.
  • Fulfillment of all initial and ongoing training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Master’s degree and licensure in social work, counseling or psychology is required. Full licensure highly preferred. Temporary licensure cannot be considered. Must be able to work well with all types of people and all populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

Working Conditions: Staff is to dress professionally at all times and will need to be prepared to be actively involved with consumers.
